All of our classes participate in an annual recital at the end of the dance year. We feel that a recital gives the students something to strive for within our program.
Some programs prepare for their recitals right from the dance year start. At A.C.D. we do not begin choreography until February. We believe that dance instruction is of the highest priority. Our recital dances are just an opportunity for the children to dance on stage if front of an audience. We do not strive for perfection here. It is the dance instruction we put an emphasis on. When choreography is complete, only the last fifteen minutes of class will be spent on their production.
We hold separate recitals for the 3&4 year olds and for our Kindergarten – High School students.
Our 3 & 4 year old Recitals and rehearsals will be at The Dance Theater Lab S.U.N.Y. Purchase College. Rehearsals will be Friday May 18th 2012 and Performances will be Saturday May 19th 2012. Performance times are 10:30 AM, 12:00 Noon and 1:30 PM. Ticket purchases for these performances will be sold through the office at the studio. These performances are theme based and each child gets an opportunity to be on stage longer than the typical 2 minutes. Also each performance is approximately 40 minutes in length to keep everyone including the little dancers from getting restless. In addition you will be delighted to see our pre professional company members as guest performers. Besides being entertaining, these dancers set the example of how the little ones can grow through instruction at Armonk Dance.
Our grades Kindergarten - High School recitals will be held at The Concert Hall, S.U.N.Y. Purchase College. Rehearsals will be Tuesday May 29th - Thursday May 31st. Performances will be on Sunday June 3rd 2012, 12:00 Noon and 3:30 PM. Beginner through pre-professional dancers show what they have learned throughout the year at this amazing theater. A fully equipped, three-tiered concert hall, this theater is the largest in The Center. Ticket purchases for these performances will be available through the P.A.C. Box Office via: on-line ticket sales, phone in or in person.
